I don’t like Valentines and I loathe Christmas but sadly, yes sadly there is a soft spot in my heart for Mothers day. Not the card crap and flowers. I love that there is a holiday to celebrate the hardest damn job there is. What other job has you work 365 days a year 24 hours a day. Even vacation is working. Forgive me Linda Hirshman for I have committed the ultimate feminist sin. I enjoy raising my daughter and being a stay at home mom. I find it fulfilling, enriching and perhaps worst of all - I still consider myself a feminist - gasp. Linda is among my mother’s generation of women who, granted, pioneered the feminist movement but unfortunately find women like me a waste (luckily my mom doesn’t). Who are women like me?
